July 20th Playground Build Ceremony Pictures

Constable Czapnik, this is for you…
...your son was the first to play on the playground”

...this is what heat exhaustion and building a playground all day does...

July 20th Playground Build Ceremony

Fairlea Park Housing Co-Op, with the help of Let Them Be Kids, raised funds to replace our playground which had been in dire need of repair for some time and wasn’t a safe and wholesome place it needed to be for our children to grow up in.
These videos are the Opening Ceremony of our new playground.

Let Them Be Kids is a non-profit organization dedicated to building healthy communities by building playgrounds, skate parks and fitness parks across Canada and around the world.

First Responders BBQ June 15, 2013

The First Responders BBQ was held on the 15th of June, 2013. The Ottawa Police worked with the Playground Committee members in organizing the BBQ.

The BBQ raised $1000.00 for the playground build. We had face painting, henna, the OPP, Ottawa Police, Neighborhood Watch, Ottawa Ambulance Service, and the Ottawa Firefighters here to display their vehicles and to build community relations.

South East Ottawa Health Center was also here as well as a volunteer from Everest College and her partner.

We would like to say Thank You!! to all those involved in making the First Responders BBQ a very successful fundraiser.
